Being a part of the team at Greystone Technology is about many things; finding fulfillment and intrinsic satisfaction in what we do, building meaningful connections with the people we serve as customers and team members, participating in events and activities that give back to our communities, and the list goes on. It’s summer though, so part of being on team Greystone means figuring out which team activities to participate in! Here’s a sampling of the activities going on this month:

Monday Night Kickball
We play Kickball every Monday with the KIFAC (Kick In For A Cause) League – we love them because the spirit of their organization aligns with Greystone’s value of giving back to the community. To date, KIFAC has donated over $120,000 to charity, and they host a mean kickball game. It’s hot at 6 when we play, but that’s okay because it’s an open cup league, and you tend to end up with a lot of whatever is in your cup (3.2 beer, mostly) all over you. It has a cooling effect.

Monthly Book Club
Books are chosen by a democratic process, but we reserve the right to give someone a hard time if the consensus is they chose a book that was hard to get through. This month, we’re reading How to Say Anything to Anyone: A Guide to Building Business Relationships That Really Work by Shari Harley, who’s a Denver native, like us. Books like this make my nerdy little HR heart happy, and I can’t wait to get together with the group to discuss it.

Basketball in the Park
As a total non-sports person (I was nervous about trying kickball), I’m looking forward to watching this one from the sidelines. It will be fun to watch our founders go head to head though, so I’ll be the one bringing popcorn.

Whitewater Rafting
A group of folks is planning on heading up to Breckenridge to go whitewater rafting for a half day. You really get to know someone when your raft tips over, and you go under together. I wonder what we’ll learn about each other…

One of the best things about being a part of team Greystone is the sense of community. There are so many good people here, without the cattiness that can be prevalent in some workplaces. We have a team working together in support of a common goal. And we have open cup kickball.
