Greystone by the Numbers is an admittedly convoluted way to introduce you to another side of our team! These brief “interviews” begin by putting everyone’s name in a numbered list and a number randomizer is used to pick 3 “chosen ones” each month.  After those 3 have been chosen, they select 5 numbers from 1 to 67, each corresponding to a question which was unbeknownst to them.  What happens next…is for your reading pleasure.

What scares you in the dark?

The sound of my furnace turning on.  No matter how many times it happens, it still always makes me jump.  And then I feel silly.

What is your favorite season and why?

Defintely Autumn.  There’s this feeling of quiet, sleepy anticipation everywhere.  The temperatures are great, the trees are amazing. Sweaters and hot cider on chilly days, and hayrides and cornfields for the warm ones, the smell of the leaves on the ground and turkey in the oven.

What do you like to cook?

Speaking of turkey, I make a pretty mean smoked turkey.  I take a whole bird and brine it for a day in lime juice, chili powder, and then smoke it with mesquite wood at 250F for 10-12 hours.  For two Thanksgivings running, there haven’t been any leftovers.

Where would you like to go that’s “off the beaten path?”

I’ve always wanted to go to rural Mongolia and just ride horses and sleep in yurts.  I don’t imagine it’s a common vacation destination.

What part of pop culture do you wish would just go away?

Pop culture in general doesn’t bother me too much, though I do think our obsession with celebrities can be pretty unhealthy.

Tomas Morgan, Technical Engineer

What food did you used to like, but now hate?

When I was a kid, I was really, REALLY picky.  When my family went to McDonald’s, I’d actualy make my parents order a hamburger with no meat, cheese, or anything else besides ketchup.  That’s right, I ate ketchup sandwhiches at McDonalds.  So…I guess you could say that I hate ketchup sandwiches now.

TomasWhat would you do if you were invisible for a day?

My first thought is to make my friends think they’ve developed telekinesis by moving objects just before they touch them.  Or else maybe sneak into Donald Trump’s house and see if his hair always keeps that shape.

What technology do you wish you understood better?

I’d love to get my hands on a 3D printer, so I could print out some new shower curtain rings and maybe a set of measuring cups or something.  It’s super cool technology, but I don’t know many people with a 3D printer in their closet for me to play with.

Who is someone you really admire?

It’s kind of cliche, but Elon Musk.  I mean, the guy created paypal, is working on re-usable rockets, and created a publicly available self driving car.

What is something about you that we should know, that people wouldn’t guess?

I’m a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Adam Schneider, Implementation Consultant

What scareAdamSchneider2s you in the dark?

End tables.

Would you rather lose your sense of time or develop a paralyzing fear of heights?

Sense of time.  Being on time is overrated.

Where would you like to go that is “off the beaten path?”

Somewhere in Alaska.

What song do you love to sing to in your car?

“Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift.

If you met a genie, and he offered you 3 wishes, what would they be?

Get paid to do nothing, the availability to teleport, and the option to sleep only when I feel like sleeping.
