Greystone by the Numbers (our first 2016 edition!) is an admittedly convoluted way to introduce you to another side of our team! These brief “interviews” begin by putting everyone’s name in a numbered list and a number randomizer is used to pick 3 “chosen ones” each month. After those 3 have been chosen, they select 5 numbers from 1 to 65, each corresponding to a question which was unbeknownst to them. What happens next…is for your reading pleasure.

What is your hidden talent?
Fantasy Football or pop culture trivia.
If you met a genie, and he offered you 3 wishes, what would they be (more wishes doesn’t count)?
First, remove all hate from the world. Second, give all puppies a forever home. Third, endless amounts of money, so that I could travel the world and still pay my bills.
If you were a super hero, what would be your super hero name?
Are there any causes you strongly believe in?
I believe in lots of causes. I’m not sure I could single out just one. So in general, I believe in peace and love. I don’t think it should be difficult to treat other people nicely.
What’s the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
Enjoy every moment. You only get that moment once.

If you could have a drink with someone from history, who would it be and why?
Nikola Tesla. The man was brilliant, but just how brilliant remains in question. There is controversy over who the true inventor of several technologies was and there are many claims of Tesla’s amazing inventions that we are unable to reproduce to this day. I’d like to hear it from the horse’s mouth and see if I could get a demo.
Where would you like to go that is “off the beaten path?”
I think I’d like to do a long distance motorcycle trip. There are two variations that I see being awesome. One would be just to see where the road takes me. Possibly riding through Central or South America. The other options would be a racing trip, perhaps to the Isle of Mann for the TT, and then to Germany to race on the Nüburgring.
If you met a genie, and he offered you 3 wishes, what would they be (more wishes doesn’t count)?
I would normally take more time to get the syntax of my wish exact to prevent any unintended consequences of ambiguous wishes, but you’re not a real Genie, and I don’t have that kind of time.
- Omnipotence, think Q from Star Trek or Jim Carey from Bruce Almighty.
- An indestructible space ship that can shield humans and dogs from all the dangers of space travel like radiation, lack of oxygen, extreme speed, and G force, etc. And that has the ability to travel at infinite speeds and through time. I want warp factor 10, worm holes and plaid on this beast. Maybe I should have just asked for a TARDIS?
- My grandma and grandpa back. They were great people. Just don’t make them zombies because then it becomes this whole thing. I don’t need that kind of stress.
What acronym is most overused at work?
I can’t think of an acronym off the top of my head. I do have a couple of terms I’d like to see go away. Cloud is the first. Cloud just means someone else’s computer. We’ve been doing it for decades, but now it is a marketing term and it bugs me. The other would be synergy. As soon as someone uses the word synergy, I just assume their making up whatever comes out of their mouth from then on. It’s a bit like this guy.
If you were a police officer for one day, what would you do with the authority?
I’d let people speed and race as much as they want. I’d totally go around racing everyone from my patrol car, which hopefully would look like
Then I’d instigate a car chase a la Super Troopers.

What is your favorite season and why?
Spring is my favorite season of the four. It is my favorite because the weather is not too hot and it is the perfect time to start planting your flowers. I jokingly call myself the “crazy plant lady.” Ok…maybe it isn’t a joke and I really am a crazy plant lady. In the last few years I have realized that taking care of plants is my zen activity, it really calms my nerves and clears my mind. If you ever have an unwanted plant, I am more than happy to take it off your hands.
What is one of your pet peeves?
One of my pet peeves is when you go to restaurant and the waiter or waitress calls me “hon,” “honey,” “sweetheart,” etc. They don’t know me and that is way too personal for a stranger.
If you could give your 16 year old self one piece of advice, what would that be?
You only have to make yourself happy. Your happiness is all that matters.
What is your favorite music album of all time?
This is super cheesy, but it would probably be Aquarium by Aqua. My older brother had this album when he was in high school. I remember we would jam out to it in his old Bronco, with a massive sub in the back, on our way to and from school. I was so happy when he got me my own CD for my birthday when I was in first grade. I still know all of the words to every song on that album. It brings back good memories.
